Our Mission
Wildarts provides arts education programs to New York City students in school, after-school, and camps to help them build the skills they need to collaborate, speak-up, problem solve, grow through failure, "try anyway," and work backward from a shared creative goal.
Our Story
Wildarts is a community-based organization in the truest sense. Responding to the sudden departure of the PS 163 afterschool provider, a group of dedicated educators and families came together in the Spring of 2019 to support founder Joni Wildman in forming a bespoke afterschool program that reflected the voices of the diverse community on the Upper West Side. Since then, Wildarts has formed new partnerships with PS 185 the Locke School of Arts and Engineering, and PS 84 the Lilian Weber School, and deepened partnerships by expanding programs into school time residencies and offering camps.
