Our Story

WildArts is a community-based organization in the truest sense. A group of talented teaching artists, caring group leaders, passionate parents, and dedicated teachers came together in the Spring of 2019 to support an afterschool program that reflected the voices of the unique community at PS 163 in the Upper West Side. Since then, we have been working to offer our unique take on community creative expression to more families. In the 2022-2023 school year, we begin a new partnership with PS 185 the Locke School of Arts and Engineering.

Our Mission

WildArts provides arts education programs to New York City students after school to promote positive youth development in areas of self-confidence, problem-solving and creative expression.

What We Do

WildArts is a youth development and arts education non-profit operating in New York City. Focused on the diverse communities of parents, teachers and students at our schools in NYC, WildArts provides an extended learning day for Pre-K through 5th Grade students to explore their creativity and build confidence.

WildArts offers rotating afterschool classes on site at PS 163 Alfred E. Smith School and PS 185 Locke School of Arts and Engineering in Visual Arts, Theater, Dance, Music, Sports and Games, as well as daily homework help and an included meal Monday through Friday from 2:50PM to 6PM during the school year. We produce showcases as culminating events for the arts classes we offer, and the community is invited to attend our cabarets, gallery openings and musicals to give students a wide audience for their performances.
